Letters to my Mum

It’s always colourful

Hi Mum,

How are you?

We’ve had a busy week.

Chloe had the most amazing time on her school trip. Apparently she was so busy she barely had time to miss us, but was pleased to be home.

Isabelle is getting over her chicken pox and feeling much better. She had them so badly Mum, bless her heart.

The gorgeous Joshua has turned 3. Jim and Kiri had a party for him which was lovely. It included a Gruffalo hunt which Madison helped set up, party games and general playing in the garden.

Last Sunday the 5 of us took part in the colour run for the Pilgrims Hospice. We had great fun and got very colourful πŸ˜‚.

I love my little family so much. My girls are such superstars and go along with everything Mummy wants to do to help others. Even to the point of them donating some of their mass of Easter eggs to the children’s ward at the hospital, they are just fantastic.

I know you would be so proud of them.

Just a quick update today.

I miss having you here to talk to so much.

Take care Mum

All my love

Busy busy busy

Hi Mummy Darling,

How are you?

It has been crazy busy (as always) recently.

Beth, Si and Imogen came home for the bank holiday weekend.

It was lovely to see them.

We spent the Saturday having breakfast together in the morning and headed to the outlet in the afternoon. (You know the McArdle’s can’t spend a weekend here and not go to the outlet!).

On the Sunday, Mike, Jim and Si played 9 holes of golf, which Mike really enjoyed and then we all headed to Groombridge Place (except Dad who’s finding somewhere to live but that’s another story).

It was the most lovely day with the 4 of us together with our other halves and children. We are quite a crowd Mum 😊.

Keeping up our usual pace, on the Monday we headed to Imagine in the morning as the weather wasn’t great… this is our lot on the carousel

In the afternoon we all went to the Stour Centre and had a swim. We got to go round the lazy river and down the flumes. It was really good fun.

Team Mac then headed home which was hard. Imogen is becoming more and more aware of what leaving means and got quite upset.

The rest of our week was the girls preparing for their Sats as they’ve got those this month and Chloe getting ready to go away on a residential with school.

Last Saturday we did family bingo at the school, the PFA were running it so I was up there helping of course. We did snacks for food in the break and we had a raffle.

Dad came along as well so it was good to spend some time with him.

Isabelle has got chicken pox (chicken pops as she calls them 😘) so badly. She is absolutely covered in them and has even got them in her mouth and throat so she isn’t eating at all.

Dad has stayed away (obvs due to the shingles many years ago) but he came to the bingo.

He has been given notice on the house he’s in so he’s looking for somewhere new to live. I think it’s a good thing as I really don’t like going to where he is now. It just reminds me of your end of life battle and that’s not what I want to remember.

Last Sunday we met up with Mike’s cousins, it was a really lovely day in St Albans.

Yesterday, Chloe headed off on her residential…. I am missing her terribly

And finally, after waiting and waiting and waiting Abigail has lost her first tooth……. yep she swallowed it, bless her. I’m sure the tooth fairy has been anyway 😊.

Anyway, there’s a little update for you Mum.

You know what our lives are like go, go, go.

I know you would be part of it all and loving life with your children and grandchildren if you were here.

I love and miss you Mum x

Love

Me

❀️😘😍
