Letters to my Mum

I did it

Hi Mummy darling,
I did it, I ran the London Marathon!
And I did it in 4 hours and 30 minutes.

The culmination of all of those training runs and hours on my feet.

I’m so pleased πŸ˜ƒπŸ’ͺ.

It was such an experience.

Steve and I went to the Expo last Friday to pick up our numbers and kit bags. It was a great morning out with shopping and games and we stopped by to see the British Heart Foundation stand.

On race day I started the day with getting everything on and making sure I had everything packed.

We headed up on the fast train with Dad and Si. The fast train that took an hour to get to London!!

I struggled to get any food down so gave up trying and hoped I had eaten enough through the rest of the week.

We got to the start line and Steve took a selfie of us at the start line.

Steve and I separated at the start and I slowed up. I saw Helen and Zoe from work at mile 9. Jim, Kiri and Joshua at mile 13 and my gorgeous husband, children and Mandy and Chris (and Jim again) at mile 19.

Then it was on to the end. I ended up part walking part running but I got to the end and in a good time.

The support whilst I was running from everyone was phenomenal and my girls made gorgeous signs for me.

I had messages on TV for me…

It was just the most amazing experience.

I so wish you were here to watch, see and support Mum.

Love and miss you loads

It’s been 2 years….

Hi Mummy Darling,

It’s been 2 years since you went to sleep.

I still miss seeing and talking to you so much.

We have had a busy weekend with Isabelle’s birthday and Beth and Mogs have been here.

We had the usual Saturday morning breakfast, Dad cooked the girls all pancakes for a change and this cereal and toast.

After a morning of visitors we went to Leeds Castle, it was chilly but nice and we went on the train which the kids loved.

Sunday morning, after my last 8 mile run we came up to the Downs to see you. It was beautiful and sunny.

After that it was on to bowling for Isabelle’s birthday party.

Today my girls and I have been for a walk through the bluebells. They are beautiful Mum, you would’ve loved coming with us.

  We miss you terribly Mum.
All my love

Pen xxx
